Joel is a member of the VoidTokyo photography collective. His most recent publications are SLOPES, RESTROOMS and MAILBOXES.

Recent recognition of Joel’s work includes 1st place at the Tokyo International Foto Awards for his book, The Consolation of Dew; a solo exhibition at the Nizhny Tagil Museum of Fine Arts; and nomination for the 9th cycle of the Prix Pictet.

Joel’s work was most recently on display at the Haeden Museum in Incheon, Korea, and at the Tokyo Street Photography Festival. A solo exhibition at Place M gallery in Tokyo is scheduled for April 2025.
